This year’s Digital DNA event is set to host a meetup event for the local product community.
ProductTank, an informal gathering which brings together product managers, designers and developers, is set to hold its Belfast meetup at the Digital DNA event on 19th and 20th June.
Its aim is for those working in the industry to share their experience and knowledge to help both individuals and the wider sector grow.
ProductTank Belfast was founded by Emma Mulholland from Shopkeep, Ryan McCollum from Big Motive and Graeme Stuart from Beezer and now has over 800 members in the city.
It is also replicated in 150 cities worldwide.
Graeme Stuart from Beezer said the gathering is for everyone in the sector.
“Most other meetups are very specific on development or tech or business. Our vision at ProductTank Belfast was there should be a meetup where all three would belong.”
And he said it helps to promote the city’s capability.
“Belfast can be unfairly perceived as having a high quality and relatively cheap engineering base for multinationals who locate their product functions elsewhere. We want to change this perception and help drive Belfast’s evolution into a more strategic, decision-making hub.
“We also collaborate with the local startup community and we would like to provide more of a platform to help them scale.”
He said collaboration is the key to that transformation.
“We believe that all our tech communities need to work together to continue to punch above our weight. We have collaborated with numerous groups previously, but we’re especially delighted to work with Digital DNA.
“Digital DNA is the biggest tech conference in Northern Ireland and it’s a great opportunity for us to show what ProductTank is about to people who haven’t been to our events before.”
Simon Bailie, Commercial Director of Digital DNA, said:
“The ethos behind ProductTank Belfast fits perfectly with Digital DNA. We want to celebrate the great achievements which the tech sector in Northern Ireland has notched up over the last few years and create connections which ensures it thrives in the years ahead.
“ProductTank Belfast’s meetups do exactly that and we look forward to welcoming its members to the event in June.”
